Guide for Connecting to the EMS Management Server
PREREQUSITES FOR ACCESS:
– a Remote Desktop Protocol client must be installed on your computer
– for access off-campus, you must first be connected to the ASU VPN
– must be a member of faculty or staff

Step 1: Go to the Start Menu > Windows Accessories > Remote Desktop Connection.
This will open the Remote Desktop Connection program.
Step 2: Fill in the following fields. You may need to click the ‘Show Options’ button to expose all the fields:
- Computer: wpcems-mgr.wpcarey.ad.asu.edu
- User Name: ASURITE\(type in your ASURITE here)
Step 3: Click the Connect button. You will then be prompted for your current ASU password.
Click OK when you are done entering your password.
Step 4: You should now see the wpcems-mgr.wpcarey.ad.asu.edu desktop.
Step 5: The EMS Desktop Client can be run off the desktop shortcut. Double-click it to run it.
Step 6: You are now at the main EMS login screen. Type in your credentials to connect.
Step 7: Done! You should now be in the main EMS Desktop window.
Step 1: Go to the App Store, then search for Microsoft Remote Desktop.
Step 2: Click on Get, then Install App. You will be prompted to enter your Apple ID. This is the username/password combination you use to do administrative things on the laptop, it is not your ASURITE username and password.
Step 3: After installation, you will need to run Microsoft Remote Desktop. It should appear in your Applications folder.
Step 4: Click on the “Add Desktop” button. This will open a Add a Desktop window.
Step 5: Fill in the following fields.
- PC name: wpcems-mgr.wpcarey.ad.asu.edu
Step 6: Click the Add button.
You should now see the wpcems-mgr.wpcarey.ad.asu.edu server in your list of Saved Desktops.
Step 7: Double click on the wpcems-mgr.wpcarey.ad.asu.edu icon to connect to it.
Note: You may be presented with the following screen. If you are, click ‘Continue’.
Step 8: You will be prompted for your credentials.
- Username: ASURITE\(type in your ASURITE here)
- Password: your ASU password
Click Continue when you’re done entering your credentials.
Step 9: You should now see the wpcems-mgr.wpcarey.ad.asu.edu desktop.
Step 10: The EMS Desktop Client can be run off the desktop shortcut. Double-click it to run it.
Step 11: You are now at the main EMS login screen. Type in your credentials to connect.
Step 12: Done! You should now be in the main EMS Desktop window.
