***NOTE*** The following information is required before performing this process

  1. The printer I.P. address, typically listed as 10.x.x.x (Ex: 10.8.65.6)
  2. The printer manufacturer and model number. (Ex: Hewlett Packard (HP) Laser jet 5500)

This information is located on a W. P. Carey branded sticker on the front of the printer, please note it before starting.

 


Section 1 of 2: Macinstosh

1. Click the Apple menu

2. Select System Preferences…

3. Click Print and Fax

4. Click the + sign under the list of Printers

5. Click IP

6. Select HP Jetdirect – Socket in the Protocol drop-down

7. Enter the IP address of the printer – located on a sticker on the printer itself.

8. Click Add

9. The new printer will now appear in the printer list

Section 2 of 2: Windows 7

1. Click theWindows Pearl

2. Click Devices and Printers

3. Click Add a Printer

4. Click Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer

5. Choose Connect to this printer

6. Enter the server name \\wpcprint02\

6a. The drop-down list will show all printers on the server. Select the desired printer OR Enter the printer name***NOTE*** If you do not see your printer in the list Enter the server name \\wpcprint\

7. Click Next

9. Checkmark Set as the default printer if desired to be default
