Supply chains should make the world better, not worse — it’s time for a rethink
A research paper co-authored by an ASU supply chain management expert investigates ways to create and maintain regenerative supply chains.

Earth system scientists identify nine planetary boundaries, beyond which the life support systems of humans might be irreparably disrupted. Six of them have already been breached. In that context, we need to go beyond minimizing harm to proactively regenerating social and ecological systems. In other words, supply chains should be designed and managed so that communities and ecosystems are strengthened by supply chain activities.
