As the AI revolution reshapes the job market, a robot very well could take your job someday
They'll do many things better and faster than we can. Plus, according to a W. P. Carey lecturer, they'll be preferred over human workers once they can perform more complex tasks because they'll be cheaper.
Robots may seem like a thing of the future, but they are evolving more rapidly than you think. In fact, retailers are putting them to work automating picking and order fulfillment. While some say they're freeing up human workers' time to give better customer service, others believe that once they become more capable of complex tasks, robots will replace human employees.
In an article Feb. 21, 2019, in Adweek:
I’d take what people are saying [about not replacing human employees] with a 50-pound bag of salt. Anytime I hear anything about the auspices of customer experience, my BS detector goes up. It’s about saving money.
